Description
The cheese-filled Frankfurter
Our cheese-filled Frankfurter is a slightly smoky sausage, which is permeated with flavour-intensive Emmentaler pieces.
Like with all our sausages, the cheese-filled Frankfurter is pre-cooked and we will send it frozen in high quality, ice pack-cooled delivery parcels. Just thaw it slowly in the fridge and cook it on medium heat until nicely brown, with a core temperature of over 72°C. Please also refer to our special page “Sausages perfectly grilled”.

What Chef Hans says about the cheese-filled Frankfurter
What a delicious sausage! The cheese complements the slightly smoky aroma of the sausage, resulting in a mouth-watering flavour! I like to complement it with sharp mustard, such as Loewensenf extra. To give some extra bit of crunchiness and contrast, pickled cornichons and sauerkraut can be added.
Particularly for guests that are familiar with German sausages, I usually serve this Cheese sausage as a well-received surprise!
Be careful when roasting and eating. The cheese within the sausage can get very hot. If this becomes too hot, it can leak and the fun is over. But more importantly, if the sausage is too hot, the cheese can squirt out while having a bite. This can lead to serious burns in eyes and face. So please be careful when handling this sausage, and it may be best to pre-cut it into bite-sized pieces for children to eat. It is advisable to check the core temperature with a cooking thermometer and not to overheat it above 72°C, which is sufficient to give a nice brown colour.
