The famous Bratwurst from Eastern Germany – invented in 1404
We’ve noticed that some people do not like the taste of this excellent bratwurst. If you do not like the taste of caraway, this sausage may not be for you. However, if you like this taste, you will find that the Thüringer Rostbratwurst is one of the best bratwursts ever. Regionally protected and valued especially in East Germany, it is commonly served in a bread roll with mustard or sauerkraut.
Similar to all our other sausages, the Thüringer is already pre-cooked and will be sent frozen in high quality, ice pack-cooled delivery parcels. Just thaw them slowly in the fridge and cook on medium heat until nicely brown, with a core temperature of over 72°C. Please also refer to our special section “Sausages perfectly grilled”.

What Chef Hans says about the Thüringer Rostbratwurst
The Thüringer is my most favorite sausage. The dedicated caraway flavor matches beautifully with freshly tapped beer! A bit of Löwensenf extra and the enjoyment is perfect. But be aware, you may not like the caraway flavour; tastes are different and your palate may not be accustomed to such a note!
Just make sure not to overcook the Thüringer. Nicely brown and steaming hot (but not black and dry), it will taste delicious.
